In 1999, a few of us with disabilities decided that the way forward
is to take more control of our lives and to work towards equal
opportunities, self-respect and self-determination. The result
of that meeting together was the birth of the Independent Living
& Training Centre to promote Independent Living movement within
Malaysia. This is a centre for people with disabilities run by
people with disabilities themselves.
